Video Summary
MTI Instruments own product expert Dylan walks through the typical setup of the PBS-4100+ Portable Vibration and Balancing System in our test lab showcasing this vibration analysis and engine balancing system.
PBS-4100+ Setup
Our expert describes the equipment and setup to familiarize you with the PBS-4100+ system stepping through the connections required to properly leverage this powerful tool.
The connections include the electronic demonstration unit we use to train individuals on the use of the PBS-4100+ to produce signals mocking a typical turbine engine. The test signal travels from the demo unit’s accelerometers through an MTI Instruments Charge Amplifier which conditions the signal for input into the Data Aquisition Unit (DAU) of the PBS-4100+. Additionally, a tachometer output from the test unit is connected to the DAU. The DAU is capable of real-time processing of the signal from both the accelerometers and the tachometer of the engine.
The resulting analysis can be viewed on the laptop running the WinPBS software via an ethernet connection between the PBS-4100+ and the laptop. The software can be used to view the test data, analyze the results and ultimately balance the engine as required.
